Good therapy aims to see you as an individual with unique experiences, but also a person living in a sociopolitical environment. Because of this, therapy is not inherently apolitical or amoral as one may think.
My practice is dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive space. I especially want to create and hold safe spaces for Black, Indigenous, People of Color. As your therapist, I want to understand and honor intersectional identities and cultural experiences, which include our shared culture of racism, misogyny, and white supremacy. I want to bring those conversations into our work together, respectfully listening and working to understand experiences of oppression, violence, and injustice. If we work together, I invite you to help keep me accountable to being a culturally competent and antiracist therapist.
